Consistent with its mission to revolutionize women’s health, Conceptus is committed to investing in charitable programs that help make people’s lives better, with a special emphasis on empowering women through innovation, education and opportunity. Employees across the entire organization come together to dedicate their time and energy to multiple community causes, many of which are featured below:

  • Avon Breast Cancer Walk

In July 2011, several Conceptus employees participated in the ninth annual Avon Walk for Breast Cancer event in San Francisco.  The event collectively raised more than $4 million to advance access to care and find a cure for breast cancer.  Conceptus employees conducted fund-raising events throughout the year in preparation for the event, and the Company contributed more than half of the total Conceptus donation to the walk.
Conceptus has sponsored a team of walkers for the past two years.

  • Second Harvest Food Bank

Each year Conceptus’ different functional departments compete to donate the most money and food for the annual Second Harvest Food Bank drive. Second Harvest is one of the largest food banks in the nation, feeding an average of nearly one quarter of a million people each month. Second Harvest also plays a leading role in promoting federal nutrition programs and educating families on how to make healthier food choices to end local hunger.

  • GetSET

GetSET (Science, Engineering, and Technology) is a four-year mentoring program for high school girls from groups typically under-represented in engineering and computer science studies.  The program is sponsored by The Santa Clara Valley section of the Society of Women Engineers and provides young women with support and encouragement to pursue careers in science and math.  Conceptus participates in GetSET’s summer residential camp by sponsoring tours of its corporate headquarters that include hands-on engineering activities and presentations by employees.

  • Habitat for Humanity San Francisco Area

Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco Area is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. The organization’s goal is to transform families and strengthen communities by partnering with volunteers, the community, and qualified families with low incomes, by building decent, affordable housing for long-term home ownership.
